Bhai Dooj
- Bhai Dooj (Hindi: भाई दूज) in entire Nordern part of India, observed during de Diwawi festivaw. This is awso de second day of de Vikrami Samvat New Year, de cawendar fowwowed in Nordern India (incwuding Kashmir), which starts from de wunar monf of Kārtika. It is widewy cewebrated by Awadhis in Uttar Pradesh, Maidiws in Bihar and peopwe from various oder ednic groups. The first day of dis New Year is observed as Govardhan Pūja.
- Bhai Tika (Nepawi: भाई टीका) in Nepaw, where it is de most important festivaw after Dashain (Vijaya Dashmi / Dussehra). Observed on de fiff day of Tiharfestivaw, it is widewy cewebrated by Newari, Tharu, Bahun and Chhetri peopwe.
- Bhai Phonta (Bengawi: ভাই ফোঁটা) in Bengaw and it takes pwace every year on de second day after Kawi Puja.
- Bhai Bij, Bhau Beej, or Bhav Bij (Maradi: भाऊबीज) amongst de Gujarati, Maradi and Konkani-speaking communities in de states of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa and Karnataka.
- Anoder name for de day is Yamadwideya or Yamadvitiya, after a wegendary meeting between Yama de god of Deaf and his sister Yamuna (de famous river) on Dwideya (de second day after new moon).
- Oder names incwude Bhatru Dviteeya, or Bhatri Ditya.
